The "Law and Economics of Nature" seminar brings together experts in philosophy, law, economics, and environmental sciences in an effort to shed light on current attempts at reconceptualizing norms of governance and human relationships with natural environments. In particular, the economic valuation and legal status of natural entities are undergoing significant conceptual changes, in apparently opposed directions: natural capitalization on the one side, legal personalization on the other side. It is the aim of this seminar to present and analyze those recent evolutions, through academic and reports-from-the field interventions.
