Yale University, Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas and ESSEC Business School have agreed on the initiative of a common summer program in Law and Economics. At the end of the program, a "Certificate in Private Law and Economics in the United States of America and in France (Contracts, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution)", jointly signed by the academic directors of Yale, Paris 2 and ESSEC, is delivered to students.

The Yale-Paris 2-ESSEC Summer School is a 5 weeks' program which will be held :

from June 24 until July 25, 2019

Classes Monday to Thursday (typically from 9 am to 1 pm).
Social and cultural events organized every Friday (visit of museums or institutions).
The program is composed of 80 hours of courses of Law and Economics, all held in English.

Location: Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, 92 rue d'Assas, 75 006 Paris

Conditions d'admission

In the interest of maintaining the program's high standards, the number of participants will be limited to 30 (10 from each partner school).

To apply, you need to meet one of the following criteria:

  • If you are a Paris 2 student in Law/ Economics : you must be at least in your 4th year of studies (M1) or be a PhD student;
  • If you are an outer student from any other university: you must be either at least in your fifth year of studies (M2) or be a PhD student.

A very good command of written and spoken English is also a prerequisite.

  • Behavioral analysis of contract and dispute resolution, Prof. Geneviève Helleringer (ESSEC Business School /Oxford)

Contrôle des connaissances

Delivery of the Certificate at the end of the summer school:

The final grade of the certificate obtained by the candidates will be calculated as follows:

  • 50% exams
  • 30% problems sets
  • 20% student participation

Attendance to all lectures is mandatory to obtain the Certificate.
