Depending on your
goals,
professional project,
original university and the
subject you have chosen, you may choose
one of the three ways of studying at Université Panthéon-Assas :
-
1. As an independant student
- 2. As part of an exchange programme
- 3. As part of a double diploma or integrated course
1. As an independant student
The courses correspond to job opportunities in many sectors, not least the legal professions. You then have the possibility to work in the civil service, in private enterprise, or in a law firm. In all cases the
Master 2 is an indispensable reference. Similarly, if you choose teaching or research, you will be required to obtain a doctorate on top of that.
Some Master 2 law courses are designed specifically for foreign students. They are, among others, the
DSU (higher university diplomas), specially adapted to your needs if you already hold a Master 1 or its equivalent. These courses include an introduction to French public and private law, guidance and methods depending on the subject chosen, degree or Master 1 courses (lectures and seminars) and French language classes.
There are six specific DSU for foreign students :
Administrative Law
Civil Law
European Union LawBusiness and Corporate LawInternational Private Law
International Public LawThere are also other specialised courses such as the
M2 in French and European Legal Culture, the
LL.M. in French, European and International Business Law, the
LL.M. in Arabic Business Law and the
LL.M. in European Law.
2. As part of an exchange programme
Many student exchanges have been set up in partnership with prestigious universities in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia. Within the EU, they fall under the Erasmus Programme. Through such exchanges (Erasmus or international cooperation), you can complete part of your education in France for one semester or one year, and receive academic acknowledgement of your course with a view to obtaining a national diploma.
3. As part of a double diploma or integrated course
Université Panthéon-Assas has created and administers double courses enabling students from Assas and foreign universities to meet in a study cycle leading to a double diploma. These double diplomas in law, based on a pluriannual curriculum in alternation, have been developed in association with renowned universities in Europe such as La Sapienza in Rome, Humboldt-Universität in Berlin, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich...
